Welcome to the down-to-earth world of Dirty Myrtle's beer scene, where the brews are as eclectic as the scenery! In this blog, I'm spilling the beans (or should I say hops?) with my unfiltered take on each spot.
First up, let's talk about New South Brewing. Tucked away in a metal warehouse off the beaten path, this joint serves up a fruit loop beer that's a literal hallelujah moment. Plus, they've got decent prices and some killer food trucks to keep the vibes alive.
Next on the hit list is Tidal Creek Brewhouse. It's got a killer beer selection and is just close enough to the action to keep things interesting. Although I missed meeting the owner, word on the street is they're super friendly. And don't get me started on the food—it's downright amazing.
Then there's Grand Strand Brewing Company. With a range of brews from light to dark, they've got something for every palate. Sure, their prices might be a tad higher, well maybe more than a tad, but the inviting atmosphere and dope food make it pretty awesome. This is not your budget beer place so avoid if your wallet is tight.
And if you find yourself near Little River, you can't miss Twelve 33 Distillery. While it's not beer, their little speakeasy experience at the end of the tour is worth a mention. There are two spots that I was not able to get to so those will be next on the list. The Crooked Hammock Brewery and Makai Brewing Company. If you have been to these spots and feel they are a must on the brewing adventure map please shot me an email and let me know your thoughts.
Last but not least, Duplin Winery provides a fantastic time with their wonderful tastings and spectacular bartenders. Because sometimes, a little wine is just what the doctor ordered, even on a beer adventure. Plus, as a Southern kid with muscadine vines in my backyard, their wine is a personal favorite.
Cheers to exploring Myrtle Beach's beer and booze scene!
